&;-INtroduction -- And so my journal changes its name again. This time, I think it's for good.
This name came to me after doing some e-window shopping on eBay. I was looking at purses (don't tell my husband) and I found one that I liked. The seller had put that its condition was "lovingly worn". It sounded just perfect for me. I've been spending a lot of time working on accepting myself and accepting the mistakes that I've made, and I realized that I am a lot like that Coach purse on eBay. We've both been carried around quite a bit, maybe have a few more stains or snags here and there than we'd like, but overall we're still in great shape and worth taking another look at.
No, I didn't buy the purse. Instead I changed my journal name. So, this is my journal. These are my thoughts, no matter how inane, aggravating, whineybitchy, ooeygooey, mushy or downright ridiculous they may be to the reader who has stumbled upon them.
&;-TIDbits -- My name is Jennifer. I am called Jennifer by some, Jen by many, and Jenny by my immediate family and my mother's co-workers. I, personally have no preference. I am nearly 25 and reside in the state of Oregon with my husband, our three cats (Elly & Shadow), my two bettas (Scofield & Dr. Sarah), our tropical fish, and a melange of plants both purchased ourselves and given to us as gifts. |
&;-JOBness -- After 2 years post-college-graduation, I finally managed to snag myself a "real job" somewhat related to my Criminology degree. I am a child welfare caseworker for the state's Department of Child Welfare (Dept. of Human Services, a.k.a. DHS). This position is very challenging yet very rewarding, and I love going to work. I have no doubt I will be utilizing this journal quite a bit for emotional relief! |
&;-SPOUSE-al -- Just over four years ago, at work, I met a quiet, somewhat subtle "computer guy". He had just been hired to help us upgrade our network. His name was Jonathan, and four years later, here we are, nearing our 3 year anniversary. I am now subjected to Stargate: SG-1, a never-ending supply of Wheat Thins, and baseball. |
&;-SCRIBBLE-ish -- Many people don't know this about me, but I have been writing stories since I was in kindergarten. It is something I've kept rather private, because I've always had problems forking over my work for other inquisitive eyes to peruse. Recently I emerged from a very long hiatus, and I began taking it more seriously. My goal is to eventually obtain an agent and make a sale. Who knows? Maybe someday it'll be my ONLY job! |
